Chesed: How Sorrell Hair Wraps Gives Back

Back in June, I learned about a beautiful sponsorship project organized by Sahar of Make Me Modest, also known as Ness, in partnership with Tomchei Shabbos. The purpose of the project was to provide something meaningful to a new bride beginning her hair-wrapping journey or to a woman or mother who may not be able to afford something special for herself right now.

This project immediately touched my heart because I understand how personal and emotional the beginning of a hair-wrapping journey can be. When I first began covering my hair, I started that journey alone. I had to find my own way, learn what felt comfortable, and discover how to feel confident and beautiful while embracing modesty. Because of that experience, I felt deeply connected to the women this project was created to support.

In Judaism, we believe in performing mitzvot—doing good, caring for others, and offering help without expecting anything in return. Chesed is more than simply giving someone an item. It is showing kindness, recognizing another person’s needs, and reminding them that they are seen, supported, and loved. When I learned about this project, I truly felt that Hashem was calling me to help, and I knew I needed to answer that call.

I am incredibly proud and grateful that Sorrell Hair Wraps was able to donate 13 tichels and several satin scrunchies to this special project. Each piece was given with the hope that it would bring confidence, comfort, and joy to the woman who received it.

There is no greater feeling than knowing I may have helped another Jewish woman feel confident, modest, beautiful, and loved as she begins or continues her hair-wrapping journey. Being able to support women through Sorrell Hair Wraps is one of the most meaningful parts of what I do, and I hope to continue finding ways to give back, perform mitzvot, and share kindness with my community.
